Twin Oaks Farm
About Us

My Philosophy

In my training program I strive to set my horses up for success! This starts with getting the horse truly broke, this means teaching them all of the fundamentals. After the horse is broke and loping correct circles I will then make the transition to the barrels.
Each individual horse learns in different ways and at different speeds, this is where the training comes in. My job as a trainer is to find the most efficient and productive way in which to teach a horse to run barrels. Horses have their own style of turning; no two horses are the same. I have to find their style and make adjustments in order to enable them to perform at the best of their ability. My main focus is to ride with consistency, which builds a consistent horse for a lifetime.

How The Business Began
Craig Brooks has been around and rode horses all his life and rode his first barrel horse in 2001 at a local playday show.
Craig and Elan met in 2004 and he decided that year he wanted to futurity and train full time and he started Brooks Barrel Horses. His first futurity horses name was Merada Two . In 2005 Brooks Barrel Horses and Twin Oaks Farm started as a training facility for Craig, each year the business has grown and God has blessed us with great horses and great family that is there for us and have helped us improve the business.
On April 26, 2008 Craig and Elan were married

And September 21, 2010 Bryton Brooks was born
