His sire, Mr. Firewater Bugs a 15.3 hand - 1250 lb bay stallion, is a son of the Great Firewater Flit. His dam, Needle Bug, was race as a 3 yr old qualifying for the Gold Coast Futurity but was injured and sold. She made a good showing at the World Championship futurity placing 58th out of 827 entries, was 4th in the OSU Maturity, was the Spring Classic Champion and went on to be a winning open horse. His dam, Doc Nakias Jewel a grand daughter of Boon Bar, is an excellent all around horse - barrel racing, pole bending and roping. She is quick as a cat and has explosive speed.
